1. Introduction
Transmission Recorder (the "App") is designed to provide high-fidelity audio recording for EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) research and general dictation. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the data you generate while using our App.
2. Information Collection and Use
Transmission Recorder is a Local-Only application.
No Personal Data: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.
No Account Required: You do not need to create an account or sign in to any service to use the App.
3. Audio Data and Storage
The primary function of the App is to record audio via your device’s microphone.
Local Storage Only: All audio recordings (.wav, .mp3, .m4a) and metadata are stored exclusively on your device's internal storage.
No Data Transmission: We do not upload your audio files to any external servers, cloud services, or third-party databases. You have full and exclusive control over your recordings.
Manual Deletion: Users are responsible for managing their files. Deleting a recording within the App permanently removes it from the device's storage.
4. Permissions
To function correctly, the App requires the following permissions:
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Required to capture audio during EVP scans and dictation sessions.
Storage: Required to save recorded audio files to the device and retrieve them for playback in the Library.
5. Third-Party Services
As of the current version, Transmission Recorder does not use any third-party SDKs, analytics, or cloud synchronization services (such as Google Drive). There are no "trackers" inside the App.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our App does not collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is transmitted to us, we are fully compliant with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).
7. Security
We prioritize the security of your data by keeping it on your device. We recommend using standard Android security features (such as device encryption and screen locks) to protect the files stored on your hardware.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our official distribution page.
